Two Hill Partnerships scheme nominated for awards

Two Hill Partnerships’ projects are being supported for Local Authority Building Control awards at the instigation of the local officers working with us on the projects.

The Vision for Vange is a wide reaching regeneration project on the Vange estate in Basildon for South Anglia Housing, delivering 120 new homes.  The first were handed over at the end of 2007; with rental and shared ownership apartments being made available to local people.  The challenge, which is being recognised through the awards, is to deliver new properties on infill sites, often with very restricted access, which complemented the existing diverse vernacular architecture.

Temple Place in Huntingdon is part of Papworth Trust’s Foundations for Living programme which has delivered fully accessible wheelchair accommodation in the centre of the town.  Here the challenges were to respect the adjacent conservation area whilst ensuring that all technological adaptions worked for the residents, for example powered sash windows.

The regional winners will be announced in the spring and will go forward to the national finals.
