Hill Partnerships have helped to raise £50,000 for the disability charity, The Papworth Trust.

The 50k for £50k Challenge on Saturday 12 May saw 25 teams, comprising 119 members walking 50km through the East Cambridgeshire countryside in just one day. The route started at Elvedon Estate Shop and Café Restaurant, near Thetford and finished at The Bull in Burrough Green near Newmarket, and all but 4 walkers completed the whole distance within 12.5hrs.

The actual total raised was nearly £64,000 which will be used to support the recently opened Saxongate Community Learning Centre in Huntingdon.  This groundbreaking facility provides accessible opportunities for education and skills development for all. The Centre aims to be self funding in just three years, but funding is needed to help the Centre in the meantime.

“We are delighted to have raised nearly £64,000 for the Saxongate Community Learning Centre” says Helen Joyner of the Papworth Trust, “a big thank you goes out to all the walkers and volunteers, St John Ambulance Norfolk, Raynet for fantastic radio communication, Bidwells, Mills & Reeve and Hill Partnerships for all their support with the event, and to Taylor Vinters, City & Country Group and Maxine Lester Residential Lettings for providing some excellent checkpoints.
