Hill Partnerships Champions MMC Solutions for Affordable Housing
The benefits and challenges of modern methods of construction in the affordable housing sector will be examined at a paper delivered by Hill Partnerships at Futurebuild Innovations in Construction Conference 27th Feb - 1st March in London.
Hill Partnerships have delivered a wide range of MMC solutions for customers over the last seven years, from fully volumetric keyworker schemes to highly efficiently framed builds in timber and lightweight steel. With experience in installing podded units, SIPS and other forms of offsite construction Hill Partnerships have worked with Mtech as their technical consulting partner to evaluate the options available.
Sara Garnham, Business Development Director, will illustrate the organisation's experience through a range of cases studies from projects in London and the south east. Sara said, "It is clear that the Housing Corporation clearly and correctly identified the threat to delivering the number of homes needed in the UK and pinpointed the right solution as MMC, what nobody could predict at that point was the influx of skills that would be available in the UK as part of EU expansion. This has changed the economic dynamic and explains why MMC solutions are not being as widely adopted as one might have thought. However the challenge still remains in the medium term and MMC can deliver the solution - whilst at the same time challenging the industry into delivering process and quality improvements."
