Award Winning Scheme in Huntingdon
Hill Partnerships and Papworth Trust were celebrating at the National Housing Federation Neighbourhood Awards, having won the Independent Living and Older People Award for a scheme in Huntingdon.
The Saxongate and Bradbury Place scheme is ground breaking, delivering private for sale apartments with rental fully accessible wheelchair housing for Papworth Trust residents in the centre of Huntingdon. The project was built by Hill Partnerships for Hill Residential and Papworth Trust who developed the scheme jointly.
Bruce Wall, who lives in the apartments at Bradbury Place, who received the award from Trisha Goddard on behalf of the team said, “Having my own flat completely transformed my life” said Bruce Wall who collected the award on behalf of the Papworth Trust. “For years I have lived in shared supported housing. Thanks to Foundations for Living, not only I have my own accessible front door and a spare bedroom for my relatives to stay over when they visit, but also local shops on my doorstep, neighbours and a whole community which I am now part of. I have regained my independence.”
